STUDENT LIFE
ON ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL
- Move to your class rooms silently in single line.
- Keep discipline in the class room, lab, library, wash area, corridors, auditorium etc.
- Greet the teacher and get permission before entering the class.
WALKING AROUND SCHOOL, VERANDAS, CORRIDORS AND STAIRS
- Follow the instructions from all the staff members.
- Running and sliding along the veranda, corridor, auditorium etc. is strictly prohibited.
- Always keep to the left side of the verandas, corridors and stairways.
- Do not hand about in groups along the verandas, stairs, corridors etc.
DURING MORINING STUDY
- STRICT SILENCE should be observed prior to the class hours.
- Discussion of any sort is not allowed.
- Do not disturb the rother students during morning study.
- Only the students entrusted by the teacher should use the black boards, shelves etc.
IN THE CLASS ROOM
- Make the class room neat before the class begins.
- The black board, smart class, chalk, table and chair are meant for the use of teachers.
- Benches and desks provided for students should be kept neat.
- Don’t sit on the desk. Scribbling and drawing on the desk or wall will be seriously dealt with.
- Bring only study materials to the class room.
- Students should maintain disciplined behaviour between classes.
- In case a teacher is late, students should wait in silence and the class leader should inform the teacher concerned.
- Use the extra time creatively.
- All the students should stand up and greet the teachers when they enter the class and thank them when they leave.
- Stand quietly and greet any visitors who may enter the room and thank him/her when he/she leaves.
- Things like pen, pencil, eraser, ruler, books, paper, etc. should not be thrown about.
DURING CLASS TIME
- Raiser your hand and wait for permission before asking or answering a question.
- Students are not expected to crowd around the teacher at any time.
- Always speak in full sentences. Don’t expect others to complete you sentence.
- Ensure that you give priority to learning and understand that there are no shortcuts to success.
- Be an active listener and always be attentive. Don’t let your mind wander.
- Be aware of you mistakes. Correcting them is the first step to success.
- Munching or chewing during class time is not allowed.
- If necessary, you can drink water during class with the permission of the teacher.
MOVING TO AND FROM CLASSES
- Students should line up and move out in the assembly order silently.
- Switch the fans and lights off before you leave the class room.
DURING INTERVALS
- Use your break time effectively.
- Make it a habit to drink water.
- Go to the washroom in a single line.
- Get the help of a staff member in need.
- Complete any work or revision that is required
- Leisure or break time is not meant for loitering or playing.
- Follow all school rules to maintain a disciplined and pleasant environment for all.
- Be in time for classes after the break.
- Learn how to respect all, especially our visitors with a greeting/ smile.
- Maintain and social distancing.
DURING LUNCH
- All students shall bring lunch and water.
- A small towel should be brought and used at lunch.
- Lunch may be eaten in the class room. Observe table manners while eating.
- Chew with your mouth closed.
- Don’t stuff your mouth with food.
- Don’t talk with your mouth full.
- Highly recommended to use spoon/fork.
- Use only one hand and use fingers, not your whole palm.
- Never waste your food.
- Food waste and other waste are to be deposited only in the waste bins provided separately for both.
- Wash you lunch box and clean your table after eating.
DURING DISPERSAL
- Make sure you have everything you need to do your homework.
- Pack up all your belongings.
- Wait for the instructions of the teacher before leaving
- Students may leave the class room in a queue.
- Only the students going by the school bus are allowed to leave first. Other students should wait in the class room for the next bell.
- Walk quietly through the school exits. No gathering or shouting on the way will be appreciated
- Obey the instructions given by the staff members, strictly.
- Disciplined behaviour is expected from each student during the dispersal.
